Practical Approaches to Root Cause Analysis – An Interactive Workshop

Corrective Action Plans and Root Cause Analysis are among the leading areas of frustration in managing a Quality Management System.

This interactive workshop will teach you practical ways to get to the root cause of problems, as well as provide you with a detailed overview on two of the most popular Root Cause Analysis processes: 5 Why's/Fishbone (Cause and Effect) and the 8 D's.

Following the presentation, you’ll have the opportunity to practice what you learned when the GRQC members are broken into groups and presented with typical audit findings to analyze and find the root cause of the non-conformance.

The presenters from EAGLE will finish with a recap on their approach to the findings and then open the floor for Q&A.



Laura McFarlane, CEO/Founder, Odyssey – Quality Management System
Laura has over 25 years of experience in Quality Management, including serving as an ISO Management Representative for five years. She has served on the Spencerport Central School District (NY) Board of Education since 1999 and was on the ASQ Executive Committee in 2002.

Nancy Berger, Sales Manager, EAGLE Registrations Inc.

Nancy joined EAGLE in 2006 as Customer Service Manager and moved to Sales Manager in 2007. She received IRCA Lead Auditor Certification in 2006 and is currently participating in EAGLE’s MBA program. Nancy has 30 years of experience in Customer Service Management. Prior to joining EAGLE, she managed Whiteford Foods’ GFS Vendor Involvement Team, where she helped them earn the GFS VIP Award 6 consecutive times. She has 9 Years of experience as a Lead Internal Auditor, including leading the first meat manufacturing in the U.S. to achieve ISO certification in 1995.
