Who among us has not had their best laid plans severely derailed by the fact of a crucial conversation a) never taking place b) not taking place effectively or c) not taking place in a timely manner? This workshop will address the measurable as well as immeasurable costs associated with Silence, behaviors as well as cultures and offer explicit steps that can be used to effectively intervene in these seemingly intractable patterns. Workshop participants will get the opportunity to practice at least one set of behaviors that remedy the cost of silence About the Presenter Jim Mahan, Sr. Partner, Vitalwork, Inc. Jim Mahan has over 30 years of experience as both a manager and professional coach to developing managers. As a former Vice President of Sales for Frontier Communication in Rochester Jim was instrumental in bringing about a shift in the basic selling approach of that “monopoly minded” organization from transaction and order taking to consultation and opportunity creation. Since the late 1990’s Jim has been a Partner at Vitalwork and is rapidly becoming a recognized expert in Upstate New York on the development of high quality, high performance workplace dialogue skills and behaviors.
