The Program

A spotlight of leaders in the community who have partnered on healthcare initiatives to achieve significant results - delivering exceptional quality, safety and customer service.

Keynote Speaker - Paul S. Speranza Jr., Wegmans Food Markets

Paul S. Speranza Jr., Vice Chairman, Secretary and General Counsel of Wegmans Food Markets will be the keynote speaker for the Greater Rochester Quality Council’s fourth annual showcase event. The theme of this year’s event is, “Collaborating to make Greater Rochester the healthiest community in America”.

Speranza, former Chairman of the Board of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the largest business federation in the world representing more than 3,000,000 businesses, recently traveled all across America talking about one of his top two goals which is to use collaboration to improve the quality, affordability and accessibility to healthcare. He used Rochester as one example of success .Through the Rochester Business Alliance, he helped create a consortium of major Rochester corporations to address this goal of improving healthcare in Rochester. He leads its Health Care Planning Team. The consortium works with all community healthcare stakeholders. These efforts have received national recognition.

Panelist Session to Follow:

A panelist discussion will be held thereafter comprised of several significant health organization representatives in the community including Dr. Robert Mayo from Rochester General Hospital, Dr. Martin Lustick from Excellus BlueCross BlueShield, Michael Stapleton from Lakeside Health System, Linda Janczak from Thompson Health, Sandy MacWilliams from Unity Health System, Fran Weisberg from Finger Lakes Health Systems Agency and Dr. Nancy Bennett from the University of Rochester’s Medical Center.
