Learning from the Baldrige Award Recipients

The Program

There is much to be learned from the recent Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award recipients. Through the use of video presentations and facilitated discussion, we will examine how recipients in Healthcare (Heartland Health), Education (Iredell-Statesville Public Schools), Service (Midway USA) and Manufacturing (Honeywell) have achieved performance excellence and a superior competitive position against the peer organizations in their respective sectors.

The Presenters:

George Hansen: George is the former Executive Director of Empire State Advantage and retired VP of Corporate Quality, Eastman Kodak Co. He served five terms as an examiner and senior examiner for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award.

Pat Merkle: Pat is a quality engineer, Institutional Quality and Assessment, New York Chiropractic College (NYCC). She is currently in her third term as an examiner for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award and assisted in writing the application that earned NYCC a Baldrige site visit in the most recent Baldrige Award cycle.
