The Seminar

Thousands of American organizations in all sectors have improved their performance by using the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award criteria for organizational assessment and improvement planning. This seminar will introduce you to the Baldrige process, core values, criteria, and scoring system. Through hands on exercises you will learn how to assess your organization against any or all of the criteria and how to use the results to plan and enhance organizational improvement initiatives.

The Presenters

George Hansen: George is the former Executive Director of Empire State Advantage, the New York State version of the Baldrige program, and retired VP of Corporate Quality, Eastman Kodak Co. He served five terms as an examiner and senior examiner for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award.

Pat Merkle: Pat is a quality engineer, Institutional Quality and Assessment, New York Chiropractic College (NYCC). She is currently a senior examiner for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award and assisted in writing the application that earned NYCC a Baldrige site visit in the most recent Baldrige Award cycle.

Deborah Weymouth: Deborah is Executive Vice President of Thompson Health and Chief Operating Officer, F.F. Thompson Hospital. She is currently an examiner for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, and she played a key role in Thompson Health achieving The New York State Governor’s Award for Excellence.

Cost: $30 for GRQC Members, $50 for Non Members.check payable to GRQC no later than the morning of the seminar

The seminar fee includes morning coffee and rolls, a box lunch, a copy of the Baldrige criteria booklet, and lecture notes.
