Basketball “Miracle” Coach to Speak at GRQC Event

The Greater Rochester Quality Council is hosting a very special event – “Dreams Really Do Come True!” - a motivational talk by Greece Athena High School Coach Jim Johnson.

Johnson is co-author of A Coach and a Miracle: Life Lessons from a Man Who Believed in an Autistic Boy, the story of J-Mac- Jason McElwain –who scored six, three-point shots in his first varsity action, after Johnson called him off the bench at Athena’s final home game in 2006. The story made national news.

Johnson has been inspiring and leading youth for more than 28 years. He is an authority on what it takes to make dreams come true, teamwork, leadership and motivating a team, and delivers that message in workshops and talks.

The GRQC event is set for 5:30 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 4 at Locust Hill Country Club, 2000 Jefferson Road, Pittsford. Tickets are $20 per person or $120 for a table of eight, and include light hors d’oeuvres.

To register, visit the council’s website at www.grqc.org.
