Lean Positive: Applying Quality Improvement Tools To Help Improve Employee Morale
Wednesday, March 23, 2022
During the Great Resignation, employee morale demands greater consideration than ever; the US Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that voluntary turnover (i.e., the “quit rate”) was over 25 percent in 2020. Although process excellence and improvement tools typically focus on processes that create value for customers, Quality professionals can utilize their unique skill sets to improve value for employees as well.
Lean Positive uses quality improvement tools (SIPOC, flow charts, and standard work) to re-design processes that create employee value. This means targeting leadership and people processes such as employee feedback, growth and learning, employee onboarding, and performance planning and review.
By combining a Lean process approach with Positive Psychology principles, leaders can re-imagine their everyday management processes at each employee touchpoint. This ensures that all managers have the same focus and shared behaviors to raise employee morale.
This presentation from Lean Positive will enable Quality professionals to apply their continuous improvement skills toward embedding positive leadership behaviors into processes that create employee value and raise morale.
