About the Event

Nearly half of nonprofit employees expect to seek new or different employers by 2025. Despite this potential disruption, effective management teams can still chart a course toward stability.

One mid-sized nonprofit serving community agencies and schools invested in new capacity to better understand workplace culture and its impact on employees.

This presentation will help attendees understand how to advance cultural change in any team or organization. Marjorie Allan, Director of the Center for Continuous Improvement at Children’s Institute, will share how the nonprofit created its survey, reviewed responses, communicated findings with employees, and followed through on recommendations.

In 2018, Children’s Institute launched an annual staff climate survey. Last year, the survey expanded to inform the impact of structural values, racial and social justice, and the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The data generated small group discussions and staff-led priorities. This led to updated goals, measurable deliverables, and timelines used by leadership and staff to monitor progress and ongoing change in the nonprofit’s workplace culture.
