About the Event
Addressing the Hospital Overload Crisis in the Rochester Region:
Challenges and Innovations
Join our free Zoom event to learn about innovations to address the crisis of hospital overload in the Rochester Region, a crisis which includes:
o Long term care bed inadequacy exacerbating backup into hospitals.
o Hospitals overloaded with several having a daily census routinely above 100%.
o Emergency departments overloaded by the excess inpatient population backup and having few beds for newly arriving emergency care patients.
We will have insightful panelists from across the region, including Rochester Regional Health, University of Rochester Medicine, and the Finger Lakes Performing Provider System present their approaches to addressing the crisis, including systems for improving transitions of care, for load balancing through the system, a hospital at home program to increase capacity for appropriate patients, and a community-based complex care program.
This event will bring value to all sectors, not just healthcare.
